*1979, Lima. Artist, and anti-colonial activist from Peru, who lives in Vienna since 2008. My work focuses on understanding the sequels of colonial structures in the current organization of life, the coloniality of being, power, knowledge, of the arts and spirituality, and the fracture between mind and body. My artistic practice is inspired by decolonial Third World feminism, and the resistance work of the Latin American diaspora in Europe. In curating I seek to weave meanings from the perspective of an artist. Part of the TRENZA collective, my political engagement seeks to challenge and disrupt the codes that sustain mechanisms of exclusion. I work from a space of dislocation and derootedness, rethinking the strategies that are employed when connecting identities, and revisiting memories through deconstruction and re-creation.
